The Telekom Fan Zone in Berlin featured several interactive installations, including an interactive goal-shooting game and a photo booth where visitors could generate realistic photos with players from the national team in real time. The installations were produced by Capturemedia.
Our brief: microservices for session management, statistics endpoints, a simple check-in service and a microsite through which visitors could access the generated videos and photos.
Challenge
The media was processed and delivered with a time delay. The status therefore had to be communicated clearly to visitors. In addition, easy access via individual participation links and the provision of a voucher code were required.
Solution
The application generates a unique token for each participant and uses this to provide a personalised download area. Images and videos are uploaded separately and assigned via this token.
The microsite regularly checks the processing status of the media, displays a loading indicator whilst this is in progress, and automatically displays the finished content – including download and share functions. The voucher is assigned directly to the participant’s entry and displayed in their personal area.
Technically, the solution is based on Symfony, Doctrine, Twig and Stimulus. Media is stored on a token-based system and delivered to the microsite via a lightweight JSON interface.
